History

The Flint Glass Works is a historic building located in the heart of Ancoats Urban Village; the world’s first industrial area, with the first Mill’s being built as early as 1790. The refurbished mill development is precisely what Ancoats does best; juxtaposing the best of the old with the best of the new to provide modern flexible managed workspace; establishing a vibrant community of creative, digital and media businesses in Manchester.

Character

Through retaining the traditional mill style of its industrial heritage with exposed brick walls and timber beam ceilings, the building oozes an individual character. The suites are designed to a high specification, providing open & contemporary office space with unparalleled levels of natural light that pour into the building through its many windows.

Service areas have been completed to a high standard with Porcelanosa washrooms and Pronorm kitchens provided. The building has been designed to give you the flexibility to increase or decrease your space as your business needs. Built on a great a level of service and dedication to our clients, despite how long you commit for we hope that you’ll want to stay with us long term.

Simplicity

One agreement covers it all and you can be in within days if you need. All your utilities; electricity, water, heating and temperature control are included, so there are no additional bills to deal with or extra cost to be incurred. We can also provide furniture, IT and telephones should you need them.

Our architects have carefully considered both the visual design of Flint Glass Works and how the spaces function. We believe that if you spend the majority of your time here, the environment needs to be stimulating and optimised for you and your team, while creating the right impression for your clients.

Sustainability

We are committed to our environmental responsibilities wherever possible. Showers are provided to encourage greener transport, and waste collections are source separated for recycling.

Flint Glass Works offers affordable serviced office accommodation in Manchester with transparent terms and no hidden charges. We offer a package of facilities and services that can be tailored to suit your business needs as and when they change. It means that even if your business needs are flexible, you can rely on consistently great facilities.

The building has 24 hour access. Reception
& switchboard is staffed Monday to Friday
08:45 to 17:15 hrs.

Postal services

Franking is charged at cost plus 20% (to cover collection and franking expenses). Mail should be received by 15:00hrs for franking and same day posting.

Car parking

Secure Car Parking provided from £60 per month from our secure parking facility on Jersey Street, adjacent to the building. The car park is monitored using CCTV cameras

Office keys & fobs

Two keys and two fobs are supplied per office. Additional or replacement keys and/or fobs £40.

Telecoms

  • Advanced VOIP system with CAT6 structured cabling to offices and meeting rooms.
  • A fully personalised telephone answering service in the company name.
  • Call management system providing monthly itemised billing (if requested).

Voice & data call rates / discounts

We have an exclusive link up with Steelcase Furniture and can accommodate tenants for a monthly charge of £60 per person. This includes a desk and chair and can be calibrated to your specific layout requirements. Items such as storage and soft furniture are also available for rental.

Our buildings will give your event a perfect blend of hospitality and professionalism. If you would like to give your event a twist, we have a large roof terrace available for exclusive hire. We can offer a range of catering options, from breakfast to canapes. We’re flexible to work with you to find the right catering for your event.

 

Coworking

Coworking facilities are provided at Jactin House by COLONY – a new premium coworking brand established in Manchester in 2016. The new co-working community space is full of freelancers, creatives, digital nomads, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. A full answering service is provided by our professional team, who will act as your business reception, picking up your calls during working hours and forwarding messages to you. Discounted access to meeting rooms with Wi-Fi enabled for easy connectivity, it is possible to run your business from The Flint Glass Works with prices ranging between £40 and £130 per month.

 

Drop in

Work from the lounge area (or roof terrace) at Jactin House or just drop in to open your post. There is a mixture of soft-seating, table and chairs available – perfect for conducting informal meetings or just catching up on emails with a cup of tea. Book through our co-working partner Colony

Meeting rooms

Discounted member rates for meeting rooms whenever you need them. Use one of our smaller rooms for more intimate meetings or our large conference room for presentations and everything in between. Book our rooms from our online portal

Address

We handle your mail and either hold it for you to collect or forward it on to you wherever you are. If you need somewhere to open your mail you can use our lounge for a certain number of hours per month. Wireless, tea and coffee (free) at your disposal.

Call handling

We can provide your business with a dedicated number. Calls are either forwarded seamlessly to a number of your choice or diverted to a voicemail box for you to pick up at your convenience. If you require, we can answer your calls professionally in your company name before we put them through to you.
